Not much. 8D But some good news~! I will be doing another piece for Shojo Beat. :D So I'm excited about that~ It won't be out til Spring, but I'll keep you all posted on that.

Other than that, I've been doing a design contract job on the side as well as working at ze retail store at the mall. When I earn enough money I hope to move out somewhere and get a job at a firm. And also a computer! It's been tough just cause I keep blowing my money on clothes. :'D I wish I had a better paying job... And not a retail job. But that's all I can get right here. I really wanna get out of the little city I live in. There are just no jobs for what I do here.

I've thought about moving to Vancouver, but I don't know if that will really find a job there. My life's been really static and unexciting lately.

I also miss student life! I always met new people. Now I don't meet anyone. :'D I'm so bored.

Yup that's my life for you. I wish I had more time to draw at least. I always have all these ideas, but they get diminished over the week after dealing with people. It's emotionally and mentally draining. It zaps any energy I have for creative work.

If you haven't already seen it, but this month's Shojo Beat features three of my work~! I was commissioned by Viz Media back in summer to do some illustrations for them. :3 So be sure to check that out everyone~! 8D

I'm still waiting to get my copy. :'D Sadly I can't buy Shojo Beat anywhere in the little city/town I live in, so I haven't seen any of it yet. XD I will be getting one soon though when I can~

I'm planning on heading down to L.A. sometime in 2008 for work... so if you know any companies or firms that need a jr. designer/illustrator let me know! 8D I'm looking for a job down there so I can apply for a work permit, and I suppose just start my life down there. Once I live in California I'll be able to visit more cons and junk. Oh fun. 8D

*EDIT: I went to Chapters to check to see if they might possibly have Shojo Beat, and what do you know! They had one copy left! So Scans coming soon for those who haven't seen it yet~! :D

Here is a scan of all of my illustrations~!

AX weekend

Another AX update~! I spent all of the weekend there. We decided to skip out on today since everyone left or are working, plus we were exhausted! Had to commute to Long Beach everyday by train. We had to wake up early and went home late. So over the weekend we didn't get much sleep.

Anyway! Day 2 and 3 were pretty much the same minus getting kicked out of a concert+star stamp. Walked through artist alley and dealers room, still being shy and indecisive. Sadly I really didn't meet anyone. It was really hard considering how many people were there. I spent more time downtown than I did at AX. Mostly because there is really no place to sit at AX and our feet were in pain and so hot~!

Sadly I didn't take too many pictures! ^^; I spent more time making videos for :iconkuroitora: since he was missing out and I know he was down about it. :'D I made short small videos on day 01 and 02, then I made a long one for him featuring some of his friends. XD I didn't get everyone, only the ones I knew he knew. ^^; He knows most of artist alley so I'm sure most people would have said something. I manage to get, Ryo0oki, :iconramy: :iconlook: :iconorenji-kun: :icongts: :icon-coey-: :iconjadedice: and :iconmekania: on it.

I think *kuroitora enjoyed it. :D RIGHT DAN??

Other than that... I finally went shopping in the dealers room! I bought artbooks, some shirts, a skeleanimal plushie and voodoo babies. I would have love to buy more.. but I pretty much blew a ton of money there. ^^; Went crazy when some of the artbooks were on sale.

Overall fun weekend! I really enjoyed meeting up with :iconkaji01: and :iconkasuran:~! They're really fun to be around and really nice. 8D Hopefully we can meet again for another con next year. X3

Sad lot of pics here. You're welcome to see look if you only wanna see a couple of shots of me and my friends.

AX Day 01

Woke up pretty early today to head out to AX. I was soo tired... I haven't really gotten really good sleep the past few days. :S Hehehe, due to the heat here and someone's snoorrrinngg... :p

Anyway, when we got to the convention center there was the longest ass line up to get badges/passes... when I saw I did NOT want to go anymore... we already had our badges, we just needed holders. :/ We didn't want to wait 3 hours for a holder. :/

But we met up with =Kaji01 and *kasuran at their hotel. Almost waited 2-3 hours for pass holders, but luckily a table opened just to get them. So we didn't have to wait. I didn't get into the convention til like 2pm~ :S

Overall, from what I've seen so far, the con was alright. REALLY crowded. :S It was hard to see things. Like the artists. It was really cool seeing artists sketch and color~ *~* Some pretty amazing artists. :O But again, very crowded; didn't get to check it all out. I did a lot of browsing with the artists and the dealers room~! Lots of toys, books, copic markers~ So many things to buy! And yet I didn't really buy anything. :S So much to choose from, and things were expensive. :'D I'm going back again though... I have a weekend pass. Maybe I'll buy a keychain or something... but yeah, the stuff there isn't cheap.I was sad about that. I really want to get a goomba plushie, but they're so expensive.

I didn't really get to meet anyone! XD Except for =look ! I wanted to get her and *kuroitora's artbook. ^^ She was really sweet. Beautiful artwork~ <3 I saw a lot of other artists too, but too shy to say anything. XD I kind of stayed on the down low and just browsed around.

I managed to go the SKIN concert. Skin is that new j-rock band or whatever. *I know nothing about j-rock, so bear with me* We only happened to go because they were giving away FREE tickets. The crew there fucked up and delayed the concert 2 hours late. It was the first concert I've ever been to! Also the first for me to get kicked out of. WTF. When we went through security at the entrance, the girl didn't even look inside my bag to see that I had a camera... She just felt my bag, asked if I had firearms or drinks. I told her I didn't. She let me in. There was a sign that said what you could not bring in. They were rushing to seat people because they were behind schedule, so I didn't even notice it when I went in.

I knew my friend from school liked j-rock and would appreciate some pics or video of the concert. So I started recording bits for him. The only reason why I did was because the instant the lights went out, everyone's camera and cellphones were on recording! So I figured, why not? I had maybe recorded 4 small bits of pieces of the concert... not the best quality, but it was something. Miyavi started doing a solo thing and they caught me. Ehh... I they took my name and pass number down and stamped my card. One more stamp and I'm completely kicked out. Ugh, what a load of crap. Half the audience was recording. Oh well. Whatever. The whole thing was pretty disorganized.

It was quite an interesting experience at the concert. Don't really know much about j-rock at all. It was very loud. :S I think AX also fucked up on the sound because it was painfully loud. I could not hear a thing when I got kicked out. The lady who was being a bitch with me was talking and I couldn't hear anything they were saying!

But anyway, the j-rock guys are way way too pretty for their own good... :S But for some reason I found it to be more appealing than I expected. Their presence was somewhat mesmerizing. Sorry no pictures of them or concert... they made me delete it all. :S I only saw like 20 mins of the show. :S

I didn't really take a whole lot of pics yet~ But they'll be up at my flickr.
